B...Breakfast Nooks

Breakfast nooks seem to be becoming more and more popular, and I must say, I quite love them. They are such a pretty place to sit and eat, and makes such a cozy little corner in the kitchen. Wish I could have one in my own.

A...Alcoves

Alcove is an architectural term for a recess in a room, usually screened off by pillars, balustrades, or drapery. Just in case you were wondering. I love alcoves. I think they can make a room so unique and interesting, and it can be such fun finding some way to make use of such a little space.

I really like this little guy, it is organized perfectly to be a small office area in the kitchen. A perfect little corner for paying bills and keeping some paperwork organized in a convenient but pretty way.

Of course adding shelves and making alcoves into a bookshelf is a pretty popular way of displaying some goodies, but I love the use of the floating shelves and staggering them like in this picture. I love everything about this...the wallpaper is beautiful, and I love the shelves and their beautiful accessories. Just the right amount without being too cluttered.

Not really sure how much this space is a true alcove, but either way, I absolutely love it! It offers the perfect amount of storage and organization without being too cluttered, and is such a pretty space I wouldn't mind spending an afternoon sitting there and working.

I'm pretty sure this is a bedroom, and it makes the perfect storage spot for pillows and blankets and other bedroom accessories. Good thing they have such beautiful blankets!

MIA

I have been MIA from the blogging world since summer has begun. And here I thought I would be free to do whatever I want, and I sort of have been busier than ever. Not really busy doing anything important, just busy doing fun things. We ended up taking a long weekend to Wisconsin last weekend to see a friend from home, then spent the last few days recovering and sleeping. Other than that, I have been running lots of errands that I have been behind on, finally able to start catching up on some scrapbooking, and starting to plan my mom's surprise party. I start work (babysitting) in a few weeks for the rest of the summer, so I'm trying to make the most of my free time right now!! But I am finally going to start my A-Z of household things that I love, once I search for some pictures...

Neglect

I have been a bit neglectful of the blog since May has begun. Finals are finally over and it is officially summer!! I literally packed up three quarters of my apartment downtown and moved it all back home to the 'burbs, where I will be staying this summer. So now I am deep into the tedious task of putting everything back into place and reorganizing and throwing out and trying to get everything in order. Hence...lack of blogging. But starting on Monday, I am planning to do an A-Z of household things that I love! I have quite the list going...so stay tuned, it should be interesting!! I hope you all have a wonderful relaxing weekend (and hopefully are enjoying some weather other than the unsightly Chicago weather where its currently only 40 out!!). See you Monday!

I have a secret. I had my final in my women's health class today, and I was a bit nervous about it. I was borderline with my grade, and before class I figured out I could only get like 6 wrong to keep an A. Out of 70. And going through it I was getting nervous because there were some tricky ones I wasn't sure about. But then on the last page there were three questions. And the answers spelled out dad. I knew then I would be okay, he was going to make sure. And I was! I got a 95% on the rest and kept my A in the class.

So thanks daddy...I miss you everyday!

Almost...

Just wanted to give yall a quick update. In less than 24 hours it will officially be summer!! Three finals done, one more to go. We start tomorrow at 9:00, so I'm hoping to be done by 9:30 at the latest. And then it is time for some serious celebration!!

And this is where you will find me this week...until Wednesday :( Oh how I love finals. I hope you can detect that saracasm. But I just have to get through four exams and it will be sweet sweet summertime. So I am saying farewell to blogging and most other entertaining things until Wednesday after, but after that, I have a fun new A-Z blog idea that I am going to be doing. See you then!
