Getaway Dreaming

As the chilly fall and winter weather approaches, I find myself dreaming of a vacation.
On a grey day like today, this gorgeous view is calling my name.  I would love to curl on one of those chairs with a frozen drink and a good back in my hand.  I love the bright yellow and orange color combos, it look so pretty against the lush greenery all around!!

Wheres your favorite place to vacation?

Outdoor Living

Today in Chicago it is hot, humid, and sticky...one of those days where I generally avoid going outside unless I have to.  However, seeing this beautiful porch makes me want an outdoor space where I can curl up with a stack of magazines (now that my NCLEX is over), or with a new book on my Kindle.
I love the bright pillows on the white couches and those beautiful glass chandeliers.  Looks like the perfect place to lounge the day away with a good book and an icy glass of lemonade!

Outdoor Dreamin'

I don't know how the weather has been by you, but in Chicago this week it has been absolutely BEAUTIFUL!  Mid 70s and sunny, its been perfect!  Days like these leave me dreaming for some beautiful outdoor spaces where I could have a dinner party, or curl up and read a good book.
I love the backs of the chairs and the cute bright patterns on the cushions!
I love this idea! Perfect for someone who doesn't have a deck of patio.  Create your own, and enjoy an afternoon lounging in the sun!
So great for a dinner party!  The hanging decorations are so cute.
Again, so great for a dinner party.  I love being in the open air, and I think it would be so cute to bring a decorated table that isn't necessarily made for the outdoors.
So cute and cozy! Perfect place to curl up with a class of wine.
So simple yet so beautiful.
Breakfast for two?  Yes please.
Love the swing with the coffee table.  And the white wood makes everything so bright!
If this was my front porch, I would sit out there all day long.  Its perfect.

I Wish...

Oh how I wish I could be here right now...
Give me a few drinks and some friends and this would make for the perfect night.

I start work tomorrow...so its back to real life of getting up early and actually having something to do during the day besides sleep and be lazy.  I'm sort of looking forward to it, minus the getting up early part.

Outdoor Spaces

Is this not a beautiful outdoor room?  I mean...hello chandeliers!
And I love the white furniture surrounded by bright flowers.
Looks like the perfect place to curl up with a good book and a glass of lemonade and enjoy these summer days!

Outdoor Spaces

With summer quickly approaching, I have been checking out some beautiful outdoor spaces.  Unfortunately, in my city apartment, I have zero outside space, but my home in the suburbs has a patio and a nice back yard.  Nothing special, but with some potted plants, it is a pretty outside space.  Check out these beauties, what I would give to have an outdoor space like these:
Love the pink and white.  Such a girly place that I am totally in love with.  I could see having late afternoon lunches with some delicious drinks.
I'm pretty sure I would actually never leave this place.  I love the pink, it really is a great color for summertime.
Love the big clock and the candles.  Charming and unexpected.
Clean, crisp, and beautiful.
Wouldn't you love to lounge out here with a good book and then fall asleep under the shade?  I sure would!
I adore outdoor fireplaces.  This one looks just about perfect.
Again, love the outdoor couch.  And that big table is perfect for dinner, or late night snacks!

Martyn Lawrence-Bullard Designs

Sorry to have been MIA for so long...school is kicking my butt.  Between peds clinicals, other homework and projects, and tests...I think school is the only thing I do right now.  Not okay.  My DVR is quickly filling up and I have a stack of two months worth of unread magazines.  Yikes!  But anways...do I have some good eye-candy for today.  Martyn Lawrence-Bullard Designs is a new designer I have come across lately, and I love the juxtaposition of modern and contemporary.  Have a look for yourself:
I really love how these seems almost simple at first glance, but then looks more and more complex, with all the small details perfectly planned.  I love the height added to the coffee table by the pink branches!
If I had a view and an outdoor space like this...I would never be seen again!
This seriously defines outdoor living space.  It looks like an entire family room was lifted up and brought outside.  I love the black and white couches...my favorite color combo :)
I could get used to getting ready here every morning.  Loving the scones.
 Hello chandelier.  I love you.
Again with the beautiful chandelier!  And i love the unmatching side tables.  Yum
Love the contrast of the dark and white wood.
Just beautiful.

Well, I'm off to study for yet another exam.  I have a list of posts I want to do, so hopefully I will be back soon.

Drooling...

I'm sure most of you have seen this image from House Beautiful, but this tablescape by Marchesa is leaving me drooling.

Seriously, I'm dying right now. I love the pink flowers mixed with the blues and browns of the china, and I love the different heights all the floral arrangements take on. So beautiful. I have had a stack of magazines sitting on my desk that I have been needing to read, and finally got some time over this past week. This image is certainly the winner of them all!

This one is my other favorite, its making me sad for summer already. Here in Chicago we have had an unexpectedly chilly few days, its only 50-something degrees right now. Yesterday I even had to wear jeans and a sweater to dinner. So this beautiful outdoor seating area designed by Kristen Ewart makes me want those warm summer days back.

I just adore that tablecloth, and I love the white patio furniture with the thick pink cushions. Looks like any girl's outdoor spot of heaven if you ask me :)
