Design Crush: Sarah Richardson

Are you an HGTV addict?  I certainly am...it is one of my absolute favorite channels to watch.  I love the different design shows and the variety of designs they feature.  It is a great way to learn about new styles, and find what you do and do not like.  There are a variety of designers featured, and there are some that I completely love.  One of my favorite designers on HGTV is Sarah Richardson.  Her designs are beautiful, and each room leaves me drooling.  She combines old and new, expensive and cheap, to make absolutely stunning rooms.  Here are some of my favorites:

I love this bathroom! The stripes in the tiling of the shower are such a unique detail.  I also love the free-standing deep bathtub.  The details are stunning.

I love the use of the different patterns and textures in this family room.  Such a cute collection of accessories...the whole room looks warm and inviting.

How cute is this nursery?  I LOVE that polka-dot chair.  I feel like you don't often see polka dots in a nursery, but it is such a fun pattern in such a room.  I love the details like the letters of the alphabet around the top of the room.  Who says a nursery can't be elegant and classy?

Love grey! Love the headboard, love the pillows, love the ottomans at the foot of the bed.  

This is across from a bed.  The design on the mirror is beautiful, and I love the shape of the chairs flanking either side of the dresser.  The chandelier is a nice touch as well :)

LOVE this bathroom! I love the style of the sink, and the mirror is just amazing!  Details such as flowers in the bathroom are always a cute unexpected touch.

How great is this?  The mix of patterns works wonderfully, and I love the contrast of the green and black and white.  The yellow flowers also add a great pop of color.

Again, more green mixed with black and white.  I love the overstuffed chair.  It looks like such a perfect place to curl up with a good book.

Another fabulous nursery! I really love the chairs she uses in nurseries, the patterns on them are so fun and unique.  The red crib really makes it the highlight of the bedroom.  And the reds and yellows really make it gender neutral.

I'm loving the pairing of green and white together.  That color combination makes a room feel bright and cheerful, without feeling too crisp and clean.  Adding plants is a perfect way to tie in the green with other pops of colors, and lets face it...who doesn't love fresh greenery?

This dining room is to die for.  I love the wallpaper mixed with the painted walls.  I adore the pattern on the front of the chair and on the cushions, while the pattern on the back of the chairs is so unexcited and fun.  The mirror is fabulous, and the use of the various patterns all flow so well!  I have a hard time combining patterns like this, but I think it looks so beautiful!

Is this bedroom not amazing?  Seriously...I'm in love.

Another fabulous room that has a great mix of patterns.  The rug is so fun, and I love all the different details used.

More combination of patterns.  Seriously, is she not amazing?  I would never pick these patterns to go together, but they really look fabulous all paired together.

If you had a rooftop deck/balcony like this, would you ever be able to leave?  The aqua color used for the chairs is the perfect color for a beachy retreat.

Amazing outdoor dining area.  Blue and white are such great costal colors, and really look great against the natural greenery of the outdoors.  White furniture looks awesome as well, because it keeps everything bright and airy.

Designer Lust: Sarah Richardson

Okay...new designer crush.  Sarah Richardson.  Familiar with her work?  If you are an HGTV addict like I am, I'm sure you've seen her restoring her beautiful house, and more lately, her summer cottage (at least I think its more lately).  And I mean, every episode leaves me drooling.  Like seriously, drooling.  Her use of color and design are stunning, and she has a creative way of mixing high-end with much more inexpensive design for a room that flows seamlessly and beautifully.  

I'm just going to let these gorgeous photos speak for themselves.

I must comment on this one because i DIE.  Seriously, seriously, seriously...I LOVE it!

This one too...this is a serious future bedroom inspiration.

Beautiful, huh?  I love each picture more every time I see it.

Candice Olsen-Kitchen Extraordinare!

If you've been following my blog for any length of time, then you probably know that I just love Candice Olsen.  She is undoubtedly my favorite TV designer...and probably one of my favorites overall.  I just love her sense of style, and her mix of glam with totally usable space.  

And her kitchens just make me drool.  I was going through some saved emails today, and one with a whole collection of her kitchens caught my eye.  And of course, so did these stunning kitchens.

Great use of space in an oddly shaped kitchen.  And I LOVE the double farmhouse sink.

Aren't those table settings fabulous?  I've been needing to get some square place settings.  Good think I have a Crate and Barrel gift certificate burning a hole sitting in my wallet.

I like the setup of this space.  Its obviously not huge, yet I like how it is divided into a separate eating space.  Sometimes, I think that an actual dining table is on its way out these days, which is sad.  Islands are becoming widely popular, and while they are great...it is not great to replace those family meals around a table.

Open concept beauty.  I really do love the theory of an open concept design, but I don't know if I could handle it forever.  Hmm...

I love the cute little decorations that make this kitchen so homey.  Like that cute silverware holder.  And I love the detailed island leg.

I love white.  And I really love how it opens straight into the dining room.

This beauty is pretty darn close to my dream kitchen.  Except mine would have a farmhouse sink.

Again, pretty close to perfection.  The only thing I would change is the floors.  Other tan that, I LOVE! Check out that range stove :)

I remember this episode, and I believe it is this one where I really was drooling over the place settings.  But they never show a good, up-close view of them.

Now that is a great island.  People can eat on 2 sides-so it almost imitates eating around an actual table!

Another open concept.  In white.  With a dark island.  Tres beautiful.

Designer Lust: Tobi Fairley

Tobi Fairley is an amazing interior designer I came across on the Traditional Home website.  Based out of Arkansas, she specializes in early-friendly design.  Her rooms designed for an energy-efficient charity showhouse in Hot Springs, Arkansas were featured in Traditional Home, and they are so fun and full of color.  Definitely brings new light to earth-friendly design.

I love the turquoise desk.  Beautiful pop of color!  And the gold frames above look stunning above the turquoise.

Love the curio cabinet.  And all the different colors look so put together, despite them being colors I would probably never pair together.

Beautiful coral frames.  I love the picture-frame wall.

Love the bar area.  And those lamps are fabulous.

I'm dying to see more of her work.  If it is as stunning as this, I think I am going to be in love!

Perfect Desk Space

Keeping with yesterday's turquoise theme:

Let me present to you the ultra-glamorous office of designer Mary McDonald.  

If I had an office like this, I feel that school would be a bit more enjoyable.  

I would switch out the pictures on the wall for some black and white photos of the Eiffel Tower and switch the lamps for some pretty sparkly crystal ones, and then never ever leave this room again.

Seriously...I'm one jealous girl :)
